Modernization and conversions

In the production processes, we find many very high-quality elevators, which, however, develop certain deficiencies over time.

It can be in the reliability of operation or in the performance of the work process. By refurbishing or modernizing, we can bring the old elevator back to a level that will ensure reliable and efficient performance of its function in the work process.

Processing

Many cranes in use perform their function well, but problems start to appear on a certain part.

Also, elevator defects can occur due to changes in the production process. Deficiencies can often be eliminated with a minor intervention on the elevator, where only the problem point is eliminated.

The most common changes are:

  • Replacement of lifting brakes and clutches with more modern ones
  • Processing drive drive
  • Addition of magnetic or mechanical grippers
  • Upgrading the guide wheels
  • Addition of overloading or weighing device

Modernization

Many cranes have been in use for 50 years or more. Despite the fact that this number sounds high, many manufacturers at that time produced very massive and high-quality elevators, which still perform their function well and will continue to do so in the future.

However, today’s technology enables many things that were not possible at the time of production. Especially in the field of electrification, the changes are enormous, and the elevator, which is in very good condition from a mechanical point of view, is outdated in the field of electrification.

Especially with the use of frequency converters, the usability of the elevator is greatly increased, and due to smaller shocks, the life of the machine components is increased. Also, switches and sensors are available today, which can greatly increase safety.

It makes sense to restore such elevators, because for only a fraction of the price of a new process cranes, we get an elevator that will perform its tasks well for another 20 or 30 years.

The extent of modernization depends on the characteristics of the elevator and the client’s needs, but it mostly includes:

  • Development of a new electrical project
  • Manufacturing of new electrical cabinets with frequency converters
  • Replacement of cables, switches, control panels, lighting, radio controls, …
  • Addition of overloading or weighing device
  • Installation of anti-collision system
  • Renovation of the interior of the cabin
  • Making the central drive of the bridge into two
  • separate direct drive
  • Replacing brakes and clutches
  • Startup
  • Test with certificate by a person authorized to inspect elevators
